Colliery Training College Learner Management Portal

The Colliery Training College (CTC) Learner Management Portal is a web-based platform designed to streamline the end-to-end process of managing training quotations, bookings, and student information.

The CTC Learner Management Portal (LMP) is a custom-built web application designed to digitise and streamline the full training lifecycle, from initial quotation through to booking, payment, and course delivery.

The Problem

Colliery Training College manages a high volume of training requests from corporate clients, each with multiple students, course requirements, and logistical considerations such as accommodation, equipment, and scheduling.

Prior to the LMP, much of this process was handled manually or across disconnected systems, and by various staff members all with their own processes. Generating quotations, tracking bookings, managing student information, and coordinating with internal teams required significant administrative effort. This often led to long delays, duplicated work, limited visibility, and a higher risk of errors during peak periods.

The Solution

We designed and developed the Learner Management Portal as a centralised platform that brings all of these processes into a single, structured system.

At its core, the platform enables users to build and submit detailed training quotations by selecting courses, dates, and additional requirements. These quotations can then be reviewed, adjusted, and progressed through a defined lifecycle that includes acceptance, payment tracking, and final booking.

To support this, the system introduces structured order statuses, allowing internal teams to clearly track where each request sits in the process. From initial quote, to payment requests, to partially or fully paid orders, every step is visible and auditable.

    Users can create detailed training quotations with full cost breakdowns, durations, and configurable options. The system allows for adjustments without restarting the process, improving usability and reducing friction.

    Each quotation transitions into an order that moves through defined statuses such as payment requested, purchase order received, partially paid, and fully paid. This provides clear operational visibility across the business.

    The platform supports the management of corporate clients, their representatives, and associated students. This enables accurate linking between bookings, attendees, and organisations.

  • Operational Dashboards
    Internal users have access to dashboards that provide an overview of quotations, bookings, and upcoming training events, supporting better planning and coordination.

  • Reporting and Administration Tools
    The system is designed to support reporting requirements and administrative workflows, including preparation for training sessions, communication with stakeholders, and document generation.
